Best Kitchen Renovation - Finalist

This home has 2 finalist nominations, Best Kitchen Renovation and Best Renovation Without an Addition.

The clients wanted a more efficient space for work and dining. The cabinetry needed a practical layout for access throughout the kitchen, as well as the large applicances. The style and design needed upgrading.

On the south side of the house, the former dining area was converted to add kitchen space. The removal of the partial wall dividing the former kitchen and dining area allowed for increased natural light.

The kitchen island was reorientated by 90 degrees. Lighting over this and the cabinetry was increased. The island houses the sink which is accessible from either side. The drawers in the island are used for flatware, spices, linens and non perishable food. All are easily accessible from the range area.

The range was installed instead of a separate cooktoop and wall oven. Large pot drawers were installed on either side of the range, and counter space placed on either side.
