Best Basement Renovation - Winner!

The intention of this renovation was to modernize this large basement by transforming wasted space into functional, modern, contemporary rooms.

There was need for a specialized yoga and exercise area as well as a recreation and games room.

The flooring was replaced throughout with unique 2' x 2' porcelin tile imported directly from Italy. The tile continues as a baseboard accent throughout the basement.

The yoga room is elevated 6 inches above the surrounding floor. The warm walnut flooring and zebrawood panelling provides a perfect sanctuary. This room is isolated from the remainder of the basement by floor to ceiling glass and a zebrawood panelled wall with viewing windows.

The gym flooring is high impact grade.

The entertainment and games room area contain the same Italian tile as the rest of the basement. New ambient lighting was placed above the pool table.

The fireplace in the games room was upgraded from woodburing to a brushed stainless steel gas insert.

The bar in the games room is panelled with macassar ebony. The countertop is stainless steel with an undermount sink. The single handed faucets are one of a kind imported from Germany.

The style of this basement is congruent with the style of the main floor of the house - open and modern with unique features.
